Heading The Ball Without The Impact

Safety in sport is always a topic of discussion for players, parents, governing bodies and equipment suppliers. The current talking point in soccer is the question of what impact heading the ball has on the brain.

There is lots of research being conducted around the world on this subject by various groups. FIFA are currently working on youth football specifications in consultation with many companies and organisations around Europe and the rest of the world to try to come up with a solution.

After much research and consultation, the FIFA Quality Programme have created a proposed set of Youth Football Recommendations. This document outlines recommendations for the sizes and masses of footballs that each age group should be using (Please note that these recommendations act as a guideline only and are non-binding.

HART Sport has worked with their suppliers to make sure our Leggero balls are made to these specifications. The EVA foam backing ensures a soft touch and is easier on the head, body and foot. Lightweight balls like the Leggero are recommended by FIFA for heading practice particularly for juniors and adolescents.
